We have fishing rights on a large number of lakes in the Eastern region of Manitoba which includes Lake Winnipeg and Winnipeg River, and the lesser known Lake Manitoba. We also offer guided trips that range from lake trout fishing on Lake of the Woods to hunting muskies on Lac Seul located in Northwest Ontario. Kannuk Outfitters has access to some of the best waters and territory in Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Northwest Ontario. Kannuk Outfitters operates on dozens of bodies of water over a very large area which features Lake Winnipeg in Central Manitoba, Wollaston Lake are of Northern Saskatchewan, and the Sioux Lookout region of Northwest Ontario. We are located out of Winnipeg, Manitoba which is a great central location to many amazing fishing opportunities in both open water and hard-water seasons.
While Kannuk Outfitters is primarily based in Manitoba and Northwest Ontario, we have two great partners in Marshland Outfitters which is based in Central Saskatchewan, and Dragon Charters, which is based in Cozumel, Mexico. Both Marshland Outfitters and Dragon Charters share the same great quality of guides, experience, and dedication to excellence that we do.
Matt and Carly are owners and operators of Kannuk Outfitters. Matt has been guiding fishing and hunting for the past 7 years which has taken him across central Canada and all the way to Cozumel, Mexico. While growing up in Manitoba, Matt calls the central and eastern regions of the province his home waters.
Matt began his guide career with Andersons's Lodge, in Sioux Lookout, Ontario where he continues to guide today. It was here that he learned to become a true multi-species angler as he guided for walleye, muskie, northern pike, lake trout, and smallmouth bass. After a few years Matt began to head west through the early parts of the summer to guide in Northern Saskatchewan on famous Wollaston Lake. During this period time Matt would often head to Cozumel, Mexico during the winters to fish with Captain Troy Ruhr of Dragon Charters. It is here that he learned how to be part of a deep sea fishing crew and began fly fishing for bonefish in Cozumel's remote northern lagoons.
Matt is also an accomplished hunting guide. He has been guiding bear hunts for Ryan Marsh, owner of Marshland Outfitting, in Central Saskatchewan as well as guides moose in Northern Canada every year.
